I’ve have been invited to a join an event called “Networking Field Day 4” in San Jose from the 10th through 12th of October.
During the Network Field Day, network equipment vendors get to come and present their newest and most awesome products to the delegates.  We get to question, discuss and debate with the vendors and then blog about our take on the solutions, positive or negative.

The good news is that although travel, meals and accommodation are paid for by the sponsors,  it is an unpaid gig.  Basically this means I don’t have to write a sonnet for each vendor.  That said, I am confident there will be a lot of cool stuff to discuss, so I will be posting and tweeting regularly before, during and after the event.  I’ll also add a link to the live video stream as the event kicks off.
I’ve only been blogging for a short time now but it’s amazing to see what opportunities can come your way when you stick your neck out.  I’m really thankful for the invitation, and I’m  looking forward to learning a ton and enjoying a fantastic meeting of minds. Perhaps there might even be the odd beer or two consumed.
